Here's my end of the year round up:
I actually had a pretty great year!
-Started my year at Disneyland with Nalani pushing our way through crowds and eating dole whips in the cold.
-Hunted for a job and applied everywhere I could. I finally got a call back in March and had a really super interview but got turned away when someone with more experience snagged it from me.
-Following my interview I went to Chicago again. I was super sick but still ventured out on my own for museums and downtowny-ness, something I never do. At this point I've realized it has become my second home (possible future home?).
-The month following, we (the two J's) went to Portland for my birthday week extravaganza. This also included a night of sushi, scorpion bowls, a man in Lederhosen playing Stevie Wonder tunes in a hefty German accent, and someone buying me giant shots of straight up whiskey. I danced with the door man and we talked about "our song"...I have no idea what it was.
-I came back from Portland and had a message from the place I interviewed for asking if I was still interested. I went for a second interview and was hired immediately. I started out as part time and just went full time in November. I work at a Historical Society.
-I went to COMIC CON!!!! It was fucking awesome. A few of my friends were out from Chicago, so we got to hang out with them. I drove down on a thursday to stay with Ruben & Sarah then drove back to pick up J and Lauren. We sat in 3 hour traffic that drove me nuts but ended the night with all of us walking to mexican food and partying with nerds.
-In September I went to the freaking Hoover DAM!!!!!!!! I can't wait to go back. We (me and nani) decided to stay in Vegas...because we had to. I actually had a really excellent time. We saw Purple Reign, the greatest Prince cover band of all time and some phenomenal "old school" cover band where we were the youngest people in the crowd.
-Went back to Chicago in November. I need to move there. I won't even talk about my great time there because it's becoming repetitive and boring. I did see an exhibit that totally blew and the three of us (Ruben and Craig came with me) realized that WE are the jerks at the museum.
-I'm now apartment hunting so I can be a little closer to work and get my shit together before I try living in another city and get some of this work experience under my belt.
Despite the fact that I'm sick right now, it was a pretty great year. I'm already planning trips and adventures for 2008. Hope you had a good year too!

Dear Chicago,
I am coming to see you Sept 2-6th. I can't wait to see everyone and eat tons.
Dear everyone else,
I love my new job and I can't wait for school. I just found out my mother has been holding out on all of her soul records, goldmine! My bike is almost finished, I just need to paint hearts on it when I'm in the mood, other than that it's EXCELLENT. I'm really excited that this is my last year at school and I'm ready to work my ass off to move my way up to San Fran..whatever it takes, that's where I need to be. I'm happy as a clam again.

Our flight was pushed back and pushed back until 930. Only five other people were on the plane and we were excited about taking up our own rows. We made barf bag puppets until we were told the flight was canceled. Free hotel and food even though we were down the street.
Left today at 11.
It's nice and chilly and the view from the apartment is BEAUTIFUL!
